About BreedGuide
BreedGuide is a set of dog and cat breed guides. Each page gathers what the American Kennel Club and the Cat Fanciers' Association publish about one breed, plus a published study where a health fact needs one.
Where the facts come from
Dog pages draw on the AKC breed pages for size, life expectancy, temperament, grooming, exercise, health testing and history. Cat pages draw on the CFA breed profiles.
Every page lists its sources at the bottom, with links.
What a page leaves out
If the AKC, the CFA and published studies give no figure, the page leaves it out. The Maine Coon page does this for lifespan.
Photos
Photos come from Wikimedia Commons under free licenses. Each page credits the photographer and the license. The credit links to the file page.
